972 new village execs take oath

DARAGA, Albay -– A total of 972 newly-elected officials in this town on Tuesday took their oath of office before Rep. Joey Sarte Salceda.

Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo, in his speech, urged the officials to support his seven-point agenda that focuses on the strict implementation of the solid waste management ordinance and delivery of social and health services.

Programs and projects of the municipal government will not materialize without the help and cooperation of the barangay officials, he said.

“With their help, cooperation and with God, I believe we will realize our dream for Daraga,” Baldo told the Philippine News Agency in an interview on Tuesday.

He said these programs are simple yet they carry so much weight as they are intended to uplift the lives of the people.

Baldo said he is keen on improving a lot of things in Daraga during his term.

Among these are the service delivery of LGU employees, increase in agricultural production, and improvement in the collections of real property taxes and business permits.

Salceda, on the other hand, assured that “he will definitely work for the progress of Daraga.”

All officials from the 54 barangays in the town participated in the oath-taking. They will assume office on June 30. (Connie Calipay/PNA)
