ZAMBOANGA CITY — The city government through the Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) has processed and assessed a total of 11,200 businesses in January this year.

Benjie Barredo, Business Permits and Licensing Division chief, told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) that of the total figure, 11,109 applied for renewal of license while the remaining 91 were new applicants.

“We immediately issued them business permits after paying the required fees,” he added.

The processing period of business permits was supposed to be from January 3 to 20 but the City Council, through a resolution, extended it to January 31.

Barredo said that a 25-percent surcharge per quarter, with 2 percent monthly interest, will be slapped on those who failed to renew their business permit from January 3 to 31.

The BOSS is a system, where all offices and agencies involved in the business registration and renewal process were housed under one roof. It caters to renewal and application of new business permits.
