123 Filipino seafarers from Spain return home

123 Filipino seafarers affected by the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic have arrived in the Philippines.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Filipinos were aboard the Marella Celebration and MV World Odyssey cruise ships and have arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Thursday night.

The Philippine Embassy in Madrid, and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) have helped the Filipino seafarers to return to the country.

The Department of Health (DOH) and Bureau of Quarantine will monitor the seafarers while they are under a 14-day quarantine to prevent the spread of virus.
