2019 holiday season celebration the safest and most peaceful

The Philippine National Police (PNP) labels the 2019 holiday season feast the safest and most peaceful. Accordingly, it conveys its gratitude to the Filipino citizenry for the achievement. The agency recorded only 324 holiday season-related incidents in 2019, more than half below 2018’s 798.

From December 16 to 31, 2019, there were three stray bullets found. Fortunately, said bullets did not land on people. In addition, there were 21 offenses of illegal discharge of firearms, resulting in seven casualties. The 21 felonies comprised 14 civilians, three security guards, two staffers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, one member of the Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit, and another from the PNP. These erring individuals will face criminal and administrative charges.
