A total of 21,063 Police Commissioned Officers (PCO) and Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCO) were promoted to the next higher rank this morning, September 20, 2017 during the simultaneous mass oath-taking and pinning of ranks at the PNP National Headquarters and various Police Regional Offices and units nationwide.

PNP Chief, Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa approved the recommendation of PNP Director for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM) Police Director Rene Aspera for the promotion of 812 PCO and 20,251 PNCO who passed the rigid requirements for the 1st Semester CY 2017 Regular Promotion Program, and were found qualified for promotion effective July 31, 2017.

The Chief PNP administered the oath of office to the newly promoted PNP personnel based in Camp Crame composed of 88 PCOs and 1,303 PNCOs assigned in different offices of National Support Units, Command Group and Directorial Staff.

Each unit and office has its PCO and PNCO Promotion Board that processed the applications of candidates qualified for Permanent Appointment to the next higher ranks.

“Maging sensitibo kayo o maging mapagmatyag sa mga kapwa pulis na tiwali upang hindi na masira ang imahe ng PNP,” Dela Rosa urged newly promoted police officers in his message.

“Ang pagtaas ng rangko nyo ay kaakibat nito ang pagtaas din ng responsibidad para sa bayan. Kayo dapat ang maging modelo ng mga junior police officers,” the Chief PNP said.

The PNP Chief said he wants all police personnel to develop a culture of responsible seniority in the PNP that the higher the rank of a police officer, he or she should be more sensitive to the wrongdoings of their co-officers and subordinates. (PNP-PIO)
