3 weather systems to bring rains over PH

Three weather systems will continue to cause rains over many areas in the country, the weather bureau said Wednesday.

Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera region, Calabarzon, and Aurora will experience rains brought by the northeast monsoon.

The Bicol region, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Caraga, and Davao region will have scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the shear line and a low-pressure area (LPA) spotted 210 km. east-northeast of Davao City.

These areas may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 5 a.m. bulletin.

The bureau added that the rest of Luzon would have light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms and the trough of the LPA.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over Luzon, the Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao.

Rough to very rough seas are forecast over the northern, eastern, and western seaboards of northern Luzon and the eastern seaboard of southern Luzon.

PAGASA advised fishing boats and other small sea vessels not to venture into the sea, and larger vessels have been alerted against big waves.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
