4 Cavite jail escapees still on the run

MANILA — The Cavite Police has urged the public to report possible sightings of the four remaining inmates, who were among the 23 escapees from the Bacoor Police Detention Facility last July 27.

The Police Region Office 4-A (Calabarzon) said that out of the 23 escapees, 17 have been returned to their cells, two were killed in subsequent police encounters while four remain at large.

The four are Richard S. Manatad of Barangay San Nicolas 1; Jason Daniel of Ramblers, Barangay Molino 2; Roland Ramirez of Platinum Ville, San Nicolas 3; and Ariel Villacampa of Barangay Maliksi 1, all in Bacoor.

All four are facing drug charges but are not considered high-value targets in the drug trade.

Another inmate, Marcelo Ruiz of Vasquez Compound, Green Valley, Bacoor, was killed in a police encounter Sunday. Earlier this month, inmate Michael B. Salac of St. Francis St. Mary Homes Subdivision, was also killed in a police operation.

The 23 inmates bolted jail around 4:40 p.m. on July 27 after overpowering non-uniformed personnel Jeremiah Perez, who was escorting inmate Angel Eusebio back to jail after the latter had his mug shot taken.

They took the chance by forcibly pushing the cell gate open and also overpowering the duty jail guards and fled.

Authorities urged the police to report sightings of the four at the following numbers: 0998-598-5593, 0977-752-0819 and 046-416-7410.(Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
