Speaking at the second phase of the ceremonial decommisioning of combatants and arms in Maguindanao, Pres. Rodrigo Duterte iterated the importance of the Bangsamoro Organic Law in keeping peace in Mindanao. The Chief Executive also assured the government’s continued efforts through localized peace talks with the New People’s Army to restore order in other parts of the country.
