Malacañang mourns the death of former Senator Rene Espina

Malacañang extends its condolences to the loved ones of former Senator Rene Espina as he passed away on Friday (September 13). Espina crafted Republic Act 6425 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1972 which is the first anti-drug law in the country. He also served as the governor of Cebu from 1963 to 1969 and as Department of Public Works, Transportation, and Communication secretary under Former President Marcos.
