Cerebral Palsy Awareness and Protection Week

Cerebral palsy is a congenital defect that affects motor skills and muscle development caused by a brain injury or malformation during infancy. The Philippine Statistics Authority estimates 11% of Filipinos diagnosed with this disease. It is a condition that is difficult to deal with and is made worse by the slow and painful process of getting government assistance. In line with the Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week, non-government organizations (NGOs) are calling on the government to create infrastructure and transportation projects to help ease the lives and movement of people with disabilities (PWDs).
