DOTr warns PUV operators on 30 September 2019 strike

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has reminded the operators of public utility vehicles (PUV) on their responsibility to passengers amid planned nationwide strike to be led by Alliance of Concerned Transport Organization (ACTO) and Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operators Nationwide (PISTON) on Monday, 30 September 2019. It further reminded the groups that a franchise (to engage in PUV business) is a privilege, not a vested right. The PUV organizations fight for PUV rehabilitation and development program instead of the phase out move by the government.
