SC defers deliberation on Marcos’s election protest for the 3rd time

The Supreme Court (SC), sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal, has deferred for the third time its deliberation on the election protest filed by former Senator Bongbong Marcos against incumbent Vice President Leonor “Leni” Robredo on alleged electoral fraud resulting in more than 260,000 additional votes during the 2016 national elections. The PET said the case is still pending for deliberation.

Earlier, SC Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin had said that the PET would convene weekly on the matter.

Meantime, Robredo will continue her functions and daily operations as Vice President pending the resolution of the protest.
