Eastern Samar endures typhoon Ursula’s wrath

Christmas eve in Easter Samar province is accompanied by the onslaught of typhoon Ursula in the forms of heavy rainfall and strong wind following its landfall there today, December 24, 2019 at 4:45 P.M. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration has already raised the typhoon alert level in the entire province to signal number three. In the southern part, further, some trees lost there strength and fell. Moreover, electricity in the entire Eastern Samar is out.

Different arms of the government pitched in the description of the status of the province. The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, Eastern Samar informed that several barangays situated on the coast of Maydolong municipality and Borongan City carried out preemtive evacuation. Relief operations in the province roll, including the packing of goods to be handed to afflicted families. The Department of Public Works and Highways, Eastern Samar stated that all national roads to and from the province are still passable.

Eastern Samar residents were advised to be ready, wary, and to comply with the authorities’ guidance relevant to typhoon Ursula’s devastation.
