LTFRB: Passenger Accident Insurance Program covers all frontliners who use PUVs

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) clarified that the Passenger Accident Insurance Program covers all frontliners who use public utility vehicles (PUVs) for transportation.

A special permit was provided by the LTFRB to PUVs for free transportation of frontliners while Luzon is under the Enhanced Community Quarantine.

Under Circular Letter 2018-59 of the Insurance Commission, the family of the passenger will receive PhP 400,000 in the event the passenger dies due to an accident while PhP 200,000 will be given when the passenger becomes incapacitated.

Meanwhile, the LTFRB reminds drivers to always drive safely.
