PNP denies raiding several hospitals for medical supplies

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has denied the widespread rumor of police raiding several hospitals for donated medical supplies.

PNP Spokesperson Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac has stressed that police
personnel will not commit such an illegal act.

The Office of Civil Defense has also denied the allegation.

National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Spokesperson Mark Timbal has called the allegation as fake news.

“In the case of the COVID-19 response, the OCD procured PPEs and other medical supplies and received donations from various donors. These are then provided to various hospital recipients.” NDRRMC Spokesperson Mark Timbal stated.

The PNP has warned propagators of fake news.

“Muli tayo ay nagbibigay ng babala sa mga nagpapakalat nang fake news na ito, na kayo po ay nahuli at napatunayang may ebidensya laban sa inyo, kayo po ay mananagot sa ilalim ng ating batas”

(We are, again, giving a warning to all who propagate fake news, if you are arrested and found guilty, you will face charges in accordance with the law.) – Report from Bea Bernardo
