PRRD approves ECQ extension in high risk areas until May 15

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID) to extend the Enhanced Community Quarantine in NCR, Region 3, Region 4A and other high risk areas until May 15.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, several parts of Visayas and Mindanao are also considered as COVID-19 high risk areas.

A General Community Quarantine will be implemented to moderate and low-risk areas until May 15 and will be subjected to further evaluation.

Meanwhile, the President has warned the New People’s Army (NPA) that if their attacks persist, he will declare Martial Law. The Chief Executive was angered by the terroristic encounters that have affected the distribution of aid to Filipinos.

Pres. Duterte is also prepared to give money for the eradication of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and has raised the bounty to PhP 50 million for anyone who can discover a vaccine against the virus.
