PAGCOR: POGOs to resume partial operations if taxes are paid

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) will allow the partial operations of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) if they have paid their taxes with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

According to PAGCOR, POGOs need to present a certificate of registration from BIR, update the payment of their regulatory fees and pay a minimum guarantee for the month of April even if they had no operations on the said month.

However, several lawmakers have opposed this due to anomalies in POGO operations in the country such as failure to pay or underpayment of taxes, which surfaced during a house hearing. – PTV News
