PNP-IAS to submit investigation result on NCRPO Chief Sinas to PNP Chief Gamboa

The Philippine National Police Internal Affairs Service (PNP-IAS) will submit the result of their investigation on National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Police Major General Debold Sinas to PNP Chief Police General Archie Gamboa on Friday, May 15.

PNP Chief Police General Archie Gamboa stated that, based on initial assessment, there is a probable cause to file criminal and administrative charges against NCRPO Chief Debold Sinas for celebrating his birthday despite the implementation of Enhanced Community Quarantine in Metro Manila.

The PNP Chief assured that the police guests who attended the celebration will also face charges.

PNP-IAS explained that once the result is approved, it will be submitted to the Prosecutor’s office in Taguig. However, the PNP clarified that the NCRPO Chief will remain in his position regardless of the charges filed against him.

According to PNP Spokesperson Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, there will be no movement among top officials of the PNP after the incident.

PNP Chief Gamboa pointed out that the incident is an isolated case and must not be a reason to neglect the sacrifices of the police in the fight against Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
