DSWD: Php 96.59B distributed under SAP

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has already distributed Php 96.59 billion to 17 million beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

DSWD Spokesperson Irene Dumlao emphasized the SAP benefit must not be divided among individuals as it is only enough for the needs of the family of a beneficiary.

Dumlao said those who have complaints regarding the distribution of SAP may reach the DSWD through its hotline 16545, or mobile numbers 09474822864, 09162471194, 09329333251, and may text 09189122813.

The DSWD added its “Relief Agad” application program will be on pilot run for SAP beneficiaries in the NCR to test its ability.

Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the second tranche of SAP may be first released to beneficiaries in areas under ECQ. He clarified those under MECQ are also covered by the second tranche. – Report from Rex Espiritu
