PNP ensures its preparedness under GCQ

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has guaranteed its preparedness with the start of the general community quarantine in Metro Manila and other parts of the Philippines.

According to PNP Chief Police General Archie Gamboa, security under GCQ is not that different from that of the enhanced community quarantine.

The PNP is studying the possible lowering of alert status along with the lowered level of the community quarantine and is hoping for the decrease in the number of violators in the community quarantine.

The organization has asked industries allowed to operate to abide by the guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

“We encourage the different industries na sana kayo na magkusa rather than aabangan ng PNP sa checkpoint and then start to ask questions like that. This is a responsibility na dapat pagtulungan natin (We encourage the different industries to take the initiative rather than let the PNP be on the lookout in checkpoints and then start to ask questions like that. This is a responsibility that we should cooperate on),” PNP Chief PBGen. Archie Gamboa stated.

Meanwhile, the PNP Chief has tasked police units to give free rides to stranded workers in areas under GCQ where transportation is still limited. – Report from Bea Bernardo
