DSWD now validating families not included in first SAP payout

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has started its duplication and validation of families who were not able to make it to the list of beneficiaries for the first tranche of Social Amelioration Program (SAP).

The so-called “waitlisted” is comprised of five million families and are part of the initial 12 million second tranche beneficiaries.

DSWD Undersecretary Rene Glen Paje said it would be certified by DSWD field offices to be distributed to local government.

The DSWD said the validation could have been faster if all LGUs have submitted their liquidation reports in the initial round of cash distribution. Currently, 801 LGUs have given their reports while 337 are yet to submit.

The government has already released Php 99.7 billion for SAP with 17.6 million families as target beneficiaries. The new beneficiaries include drivers of transport network vehicle services (TNVS) and public utility vehicles (PUV) from the NCR. The DSWD has encouraged drivers to check the website of LTFRB to check if their names are in the master list for the immediate acquisition of cash aid.
