DTI receives around 10,000 complaints of online scams

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has received around 10,000 complaints of online scams.

According to DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez, 1,000 complaints have been filed in the first quarter of 2020 and the rest have been filed in the second quarter.
DTI Sec. Lopez urged owners of online businesses to register and show their legitimacy to consumers. This will also help develop their business.

The trade secretary explained that the government can assist them and protect their business if they are registered.
