JTF COVID Shield: Nothing to fear about the police abusing participation in OPLAN Kalinga

The Joint Task Force COVID Shield has guaranteed that there is nothing to fear about police abusing their participation in OPLAN Kalinga.

JTF COVID Shield Commander Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar clarified that the presence of cops is meant to help health workers and local government units (LGUs).

The list of people to be picked up is handled by health workers, not by the police.

According to PLt.Gen. Eleazar, the role of police personnel is only to ensure the safe implementation of the program.

The PNP Quick Response Team that make up the PNP Health Service members will be deployed.

He also pointed out that OPLAN Kalinga is not an anti-poor government measure. The marginalized sector will benefit from the program especially those who are incapable of having quarantine at home.
