Water rates to go down in the next 3 months

The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System Regulatory Office (MWSS RO) allowed Manila Water and Maynilad to cut down water charges in the next three months amid the implementation of the 2020 fourth quarter Foreign Currency Differential Adjustment (FCDA).

Manila Water will implement a 1.17-percent FCDA on its average basic charge of Php 28.52 per cubic meter, resulting in a Php 0.78-decrease in the monthly bill of households consuming 10 cubic meters or less, Php 1.73 for those consuming 20 cubic meters or less, and Php 3.52 for those consuming 30 cubic meters or less.

Maynilad will also employ a 0.26-percent FCDA to its average basic charge of Php 36.24 per cubic meter.

Maynilad customers who are consuming 10 cubic meters or less will have a Php 0.06 cut in their bills, Php 0.24 for consumers of 20 cubic meters or less, and Php 0.50 for consumers of 30 cubic meters or less. – Report from Mica Joson
