Manila Cathedral reopens after 6 months

The Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, Manila has reopened its doors to the public after 6 months.

According to Manila Cathedral Vice Rector Father Kali Llamado, the church will strictly implement the health protocols in compliance with the guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) where only 10% of the original capacity are permitted to enter.

From the regular capacity of 800, only 80 are allowed and occupying seats are on a first come, first served basis. Only those wearing face masks and face shields can get in. If the 80-person capacity is reached, people can use part of the Plaza Roma in front of the Manila Cathedral.

The Manila Cathedral is continuously coordinating with the Intramuros Administration to accommodate visitors.

Before entering, visitors’ body temperature will be scanned and a contact tracing form will be filled out.

The Manila Cathedral starts its mass at 7:30 in the morning followed by another at 12:00 noon on weekdays and, 7:30 am every Saturday. Sunday masses are at 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. – Report from Patrick de Jesus
