Exhaustive Probe of Bulacan Cops on the Murder of Ret. Col Fernando Villanueva

Camp General Alejo S Santos, City of Malolos — Bulacan Police Provincial Director PCOL LAWRENCE B CAJIPE orders the immediate creation of Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) “Bagbag” for the exhaustive investigation on the murder case of Retired Col Fernando Villanueva.

PD CAJIPE said that retired Police Colonel, former Provincial Director of Bulacan PPO, also former Provincial Jail Warden of Bulacan and current Chief Security of the Civil Security Group of the Provincial Capitol was gunned down by unidentified motorcycle-riding men along Bagbag Bridge, Brgy Iba O Este, Calumpit Bulacan at about 6:00 PM.

Based on the report, the victim together with his driver were on board a black Mitsubishi Estrada with red plate number SHX 829 and traversing along Mc Arthur Highway Calumpit, Bulacan when they were shot several times by unidentified assailant/s. The two (2) immediately alighted from the vehicle due to the traffic congestion but retired PCOL VILLANUEVA was chased by the suspect/s and shot him successively causing his death. His driver however, was left unharmed.

Upon receipt of the report Bulacan PNP immediately sent flash alarm to all its units and ordered the conduct of dragnet operations to pursue and locate the fleeing armed suspects. CCTV footages are being collated for the possible movement and identification of the suspect/s.

The crime scene was processed by Bulacan SOCO.

Continuous and unrelenting follow-up investigation and operation is undertaken by Bulacan police together with other law enforcement agencies like CIDG and NBI for the immediate solution of the gruesome killing.

“No stones will be left unturned to solve this case. We will investigate all angles and look into all possible motives for this gruesome killing of a comrade in public service” added PD CAJIPE.
