FDA warns vs COVID-19 vaccine sold in markets

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned the public against the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine being sold in the market.

The FDA has received reports on COVID-19 vaccines being sold for PhP 50,000 prompting the agency to caution the public against deceitful offers.
According to FDA Director-General Eric Domingo, no vaccine has been approved by their office and all the others are still undergoing processes before it can be used in clinical trials.

Dir. Gen. Domingo has pointed out that in spite of the ongoing trials, it is still illegal to sell them in the market without prior approval of the vaccine expert panel of the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the FDA is focused on the screening of the companies showing interest in conducting clinical trials in the country. A new company called the Clover Biopharmaceuticals from Australia has also shown interest in the trial.
