DepEd prepares for PISA 2022

The Department of Education (DepEd) is preparing for its participation in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) in 2022.

The DepEd disclosed that, as early as now, it is already discussing the areas to improve on for the PISA 2022 after the Philippines ranked low in its participation in 2018. Out of 79 countries, the Philippines has plummeted its score in Reading, Science, and Mathematical skills.

The education department trusts that the country will recover from the slump after reviewing the steps needed like focusing on the Sulong Edukalidad program, strengthening the learning facilities, upskilling, and reskilling of teachers and school heads to improve their teaching.
“We are not thinking of a specific ranking as of this time. What we are looking forward to is an improvement of the ranking of the Philippines.” DepEd Secretary Briones shared.
