The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will resume the truck ban in EDSA and other major thoroughfares starting Monday, December 14 following its suspension in March.

The total truck ban in EDSA will be implemented 24/7 from Monday to Sunday from Magallanes Interchangeable to North Avenue while the ban in other major thoroughfares will be from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday to Saturday.

Meanwhile, MMDA EDSA Traffic Management Unit Chief Col. Edison Bong Nebrija conducted an inspection early Monday and explained the exemptions for truck ban.

“So makikita niyo ‘yung taps na pinapakita sa atin, naka-online po ‘yun. Naka-schedule sila. Makikita ‘yung schedule nila kaya pinapayagan naming silang bumaybay based on that schedule. (As you can see, those taps we are showing are scheduled online. Their schedule can be seen that’s why we allow them to travel based on that schedule.)”
