PRRD OKs dry run of face-to-face classes in low-risk areas

President Rodrigo Duterte approved on Monday night the conduct of the pilot implementation of face-to-face classes in select schools in the country “with low COVID-risk for the whole month of January 2021.”

The Department of Education (DepEd) has already been tasked to coordinate with the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 for the monitoring of the dry run which will be subject to “strict health and safety measures.”

“We need to emphasize that face-to-face classes in schools where this may be allowed will not be compulsory, but rather voluntary on the part of the learner/parents,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated.

Authorities are yet to announce when the dry run will exactly start next year. – PTV News
