DOST: Sinovac is 50% effective

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) confirmed that the Chinese Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine Sinovac is 50% effective. This is based on the minimum requirement set by the World Health Organization (WHO).

DOST-Philippine Council for Health Research Development Executive Director Dr. Jaime Montoya reminded that the efficacy of a vaccine can change. It can increase or decrease. Brazil has initially reported the said efficacy of the Sinovac vaccine in its last trial.
