CHED lays out guidelines on limited face-to-face classes

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) laid out its guidelines on the approved limited face-to-face classes in medical and allied health sciences courses.

CHED Chairperson J. Prospero De Vera III pointed out in a public briefing that only the subjects that require actual practice or interaction are allowed to be conducted face-to-face. The order approved by President Rodrigo R. Duterte only applies to areas under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) and schools in General Community Quarantine (GCQ) areas with students training in Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) hospitals.

Only students with ages 20 and above are allowed in the said classes but this set-up will not force any students to attend. Schools must provide alternative educational arrangements for those who will not go to classes physically.

CHED explained that schools must apply to the commission first before opening for face-to-face classes since an inspection will be conducted regarding their retrofit, coordination with the local government, and observation of the minimum health protocols.

Schools found to have an infection will be immediately closed. -PTV News Online
