Kick-starting PNR Clark phase 2

DOTr PR

The much-awaited 2nd leg of the mammoth North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) project of the Department of Transportation, through the Philippine National Railways (PNR) is now moving at a very rapid pace!

The 54-kilometer PNR Clark Phase 2 segment, which will run from Malolos in Bulacan to Clark in Pampanga, now stands at 27.79% overall progress rate, as of 31 January 2021.

Pre-construction activities, including site inspections in Clark International Airport (CRK) and Apalit Stations, are ongoing. By April of this year, we will be witnessing the groundbreaking of this northern segment of the massive 148-km, 37 station NSCR.

Once partially operating in 2022, travel time between Bulacan and Pampanga will be trimmed down to just 30-35 minutes, from the original 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Further, the project will feature the country’s first Airport Express Service, which will reduce travel time between Clark International Airport (CRK) in Pampanga and Makati City from more than two (2) hours by car, to just one (1) hour via the Airport Express.

Watch out for more exciting updates, as we go full speed ahead with PNR Clark Phase 2 of the NSCR!

All aboard!
