DOT pushes for standardized health protocols

The Department of Tourism (DOT) is long pushing for the standardized health protocols and requirements.

The DOT sees that the different travel requirements for various provinces are one of the challenges in the recovery of the tourism sector.

Based on the study of the Asian Institute of Management, the travelers found that the varying local government unit (LGU) protocols are the “top source of travel inconvenience”.

“I agree that it is important to have uniform travel protocols,” DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat asserted.

According to the League of Provinces of the Philippines, the uniformed travel protocols are being discussed by the LGUs.

However, the league pointed out that the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) testing must not be discarded.
