Baguio launches mobile jabs for bedridden patients

By Liza Agoot

BAGUIO CITY – The city Health Services Office (HSO) has started inoculating senior citizens and persons with comorbidities who are bedridden via the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) Mobile Vaccination (MoVacc) program.

Public Information Office (PIO)-Baguio chief Aileen Refuerzo on Friday said the HSO deployed its first MoVacc Team last May 20.

They were able to vaccinate 21 vulnerable members of the priority sectors under A2 (senior citizens) and A3 (person with comorbidities) for their first dose of COVID-19 jabs in barangays covered by the Aurora Hill District Health Center, she said.

To avail of the service, Refuerzo said guardians or family members of the bedridden person should coordinate with the barangay health workers or at their District Health Centers for inclusion in the list.

The patient must, however, be first registered in the online vaccine registration site bakuna.baguio.gov.ph so that vaccine supply will be allocated from the Department of Health.

She said the team uses an ambulance either from the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office or the ambulance of the Baguio Country Club.

“The MoVacc follows the same vaccination process flow being implemented in the main sites such as: ensuring pre-registration, coordination for the schedule of vaccination, taking of vital signs and screening before vaccination,” she said.

She said the city government has been coming up with systems to improve the process of vaccination and reach the most vulnerable people in society. (PNA) –rir
