Ex-President Noynoy Aquino III laid to rest beside his parents

The Philippine’s former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III was laid to rest on Saturday (June 26) beside his parents, Benigno Aquino, Jr. and Corazon Aquino at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City.

The state funeral was attended by his family and friends, including Vice President Leni Robredo and other supporters of the former president.

His sister Ballsy Aquino-Cruz accepted the Philippine flag that had been placed on his urn, while his youngest sister, Kris Aquino, brought the urn carrying Aquino’s ashes to his resting place.

On June 24, the Aquino family said that he died “peacefully in his sleep.” The family said his death was pronounced at 6:30 a.m. due to renal disease secondary to diabetes, according to his death certificate. – rir
