OCTA: NCR death rate drops to 0.78%

The OCTA Research group said on July 10 the case fatality rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) has dropped.

Based on the team’s data from June 1 to July 6, the NCR death rate has dropped by 26%. It was recorded to be 1.06% in the first three months of 2021 and is now at 0.78%.

“This means there are now less than one out of every 100 COVID-19 cases dying due to COVID,” the group said.

According to the OCTA Research team, it is the result of the improved treatment and management conducted by the government on the COVID-19 cases. It added that the hard work of healthcare workers and strengthened vaccination program also greatly contributed to the decrease.

However, the Department of Health (DOH) continues to remind the public not to be complacent and follow the minimum health standards to further prevent the spread of COVID-19.   (PTV News)/NGS-rir
