Pulse Asia: 43% of Filipinos willing to get COVID-19 jabs

A Pulse Asia survey showed that some 43% of respondents are willing to get inoculated with COVID-19 vaccine as soon as the jab is available.

The recent survey that was released on Monday (July 12) was conducted from June 7 to June 16. Back in February this year, the same survey showed that only 16% of Filipino adults said they are willing to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

“With the start of the vaccination program in March 2021 and medical front liners, senior citizens, and those with underlying health problems getting the first COVID-19 jabs, the percentage of Filipino adults inclined to get vaccinated goes up to 43% in June 2021,” Pulse Asia said in a release.

Meanwhile, 36% of the respondents said they will not register for vaccination.

Some 16% were unsure, while 5% of the respondents were already vaccinated.

The Malacañang was elated over the result of the recent survey on vaccine confidence among Filipinos.

“Nagagalak po tayo diyan at talaga naman pong bakuna ang magiging solusyon natin dito sa pandemya at ito po iyong tanging paraan para tayo po’y makapagbalik-buhay. So pabakuna na po tayo,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said during a public briefing on Monday (July 12). – Report from Sweeden Velado-Ramirez / CF – rir
