Manila continues vaccination, awaits more vax for first dose rollout

The City of Manila continued today (July 13) the second dose vaccination of qualified beneficiaries, but has yet to push through with first dose inoculation pending receipt of vaccine supply.

The city government said they cannot assure yet whether they can resume early Wednesday morning with first dose rollout, following the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) announcement of the arrival of one million CoronaVac doses on July 14.

“Ang natitira na lang [sa atin]… pang-second dose na ‘yon. ‘Di naman natin pwedeng galawin ‘yun, dahil ito ay naka-reserve na para sa mga babalik,” Manila Public Information Officer Julius Leonen said.

Leonen said arriving vaccines have yet to receive a certificate of analysis from the Department of Health (DOH), and that “it will take about five days” before they are administered.

The city is currently administering CoronaVac and Pfizer second doses at several mall and community sites.

Based on its announcement, the second dose inoculation will continue on July 14, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m, using CoronaVac and Sputnik V.
