Reaffirming the Philippines’ commitment to an ironclad alliance that has withstood several decades, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. welcomed two newly appointed diplomats who will be representing the United States in their respective assigned countries.

On Monday, the President welcomed U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Lipton and U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor in a courtesy call at Malacañang.

The courtesy call aimed to further strengthen regional cooperation, economic ties, and digital trade, consistent with 80 years of relationship between Washington and Manila.

The courtesy call serves as a prelude to the upcoming Quad Ministerial Meeting, which a U.S. Representative is expected to attend.

The meeting will be held on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Manila, which will focus on advancing the newly launched Indo-Pacific Maritime Surveillance Collaboration.

Earlier, Ambassador Lipton presented his credentials to President Marcos Jr., further bolstering the strength of diplomatic rapport between both nations.
