DILG records over 1-M health protocol violators

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) recorded over one million health protocol violators since President Rodrigo Roa Duterte ordered the violators’ apprehension.

In a Laging Handa public briefing on Thursday (July 15), DILG Assistant Secretary Odilon Pasaraba said the violators include those who do not properly wear their face masks and shields, and those who do not follow the social distancing rule.

Around 1,008,000 violators have been issued a warning while more than 42,000 individuals have been apprehended due to violating the minimum public health standards.

In relation to this, Pasaraba reported that the local government units (LGUs) are continuously implementing various strategies to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

“Nagbigay na ng sapat na patnubay ang ating Department of Health maging ang DILG kung paano natin maisasagawa ang mga istratehiya at standards na ito,” he said.

Meanwhile, he added that there are more than 15,000 contact tracers nationwide that monitor the close contacts of COVID-19 patients within 24 hours. He announced that the government has reached 90% contact tracing efficiency.

“We are trying to achieve this ideal contact tracing ratio. At this point in time, meron tayong mga 15,000 na contact tracers…Nakapagtala tayo ng contact tracing efficiency na 90%.”
