No tropical cyclone wind signal is currently in effect in the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), as Tropical Depression “Fabian” slightly accelerates while maintaining its strength.
Based on the latest weather bulletin released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday (July 17) at 5:00 p.m., Tropical Depression Fabian is unlikely to bring heavy rainfall in the country throughout the forecast period.
However PAGASA said this tropical cyclone is currently enhancing the Southwest Monsoon which may bring monsoon rains over Palawan and Occidental Mindoro within 24 hours.
“On the forecast track, Fabian will remain far from the Philippine landmass throughout the forecast period. The tropical depression is forecast to move generally north northwestward or northwestward until Tuesday (July 20) morning before turning west northwestward by Tuesday afternoon,” the bulletin said.
Tropical Depression Fabian is expected to exit the PAR on Monday (July 19) afternoon or evening. – (DOST-PAGASA) / CF – rir
