PNP Medical Reserve Force on standby for ECQ vaccination

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police Gen. Guillermo Eleazar placed the Medical Reserve Force (MRF) on standby to assist in the vaccination process during the enforcement of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Eleazar assured that the MRF is ready to help with the vaccination process after the Metro Manila Council’s pronouncement that it is targeting to inoculate 250,000 individuals each day during the two-week ECQ from August 6 to 20.

“The PNP’s Medical Reserve Force will be on standby in case they will be tapped in the vaccination process during the two-week ECQ,” Eleazar said. “Malaki-laki ang 250,000 na katao kada araw, kaya’t tutulong ang PNP para masigurong magiging maayos, mabilis, at ligtas ang bakunahan sa buong Metro Manila.”

“I am also directing the NCRPO [NCR Police Office] to prepare the deployment of additional cops and a contingency plan for this vaccination. Ihahanda din natin ang assets ng PNP kung sakaling kailanganin ito para sa paghahatid ng bakuna sa ibang lugar,” the PNP chief added.

Eleazar further tasked the concerned police commanders to coordinate with local government officials, especially barangay executives, to discuss the vaccination process during the ECQ.

Metro Manila will be placed under the strictest form of quarantine from August 6 to 20 to prevent the spread of the more infectious Delta variant. Only essential travel and services are allowed during the period of ECQ. (PNP-PIO) – jlo
