The Philippines has breached the 21-million mark in the doses administered against COVID-19.
In a public briefing on Tuesday (Aug. 3), Presidential and Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Spokesperson Harry Roque announced that the country has administered a total of 21,210,129 doses with 11,840,504 as the first dose and 9,369,625 as the second dose as of Aug. 2.
He also mentioned that the daily average jabs as of Aug.2 is 346,585.
In relation to this, National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 Chief Implementer and vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. said on Tuesday (Aug. 1) that at the start of the month, only three million individuals were fully vaccinated.
“Ang maganda po dito nagsimula tayo ng buwan na 3 million lang po ‘yung ating second doses or fully vaccinated. Ngayon po, Mr. President, umarangkada po tayo ng more or less six million to seven million po,” he said.
He bared that the total jabs for the past seven days as of Aug.1 is 3,661,123.
“There was a significant increase in our daily jabs with this week daily average of 523,[018] doses. And we have a total of 3,661,123 jabs for the past seven days,” he added. -rir
