PH reaches nearly 700-k jab rate

By Pearl Gumapos

Deputy chief implementer of the National Task Force Against COVID-19 Sec. Vince Dizon announced on Wednesday (August 4) that 680,883 jabs were administered yesterday, August 3.

“Dahil po diyan, halos 22 million na po ang jabs administered. Halos 10 million na Filipino ang vaccinated kaya napakalaking milestone ito,” Dizon said in a Laging Handa public briefing.

Dizon said the country will be able to reach 10 million fully vaccinated citizens by tomorrow.

He also said that if the supply of vaccines remains continuous, the 600,000 jabs per day rate can be sustained.

“Katapat natin ang supply. Kung maganda ang supply, tuloy-tuloy, kaya natin i-sustain itong jab rate na ito,” he said.

Dizon added that four million doses of COVID-19 vaccine will be reserved for Manila, while 2.5 million will be allotted to Plus areas.

“Ang number one priority natin ay ang mga area na papasok sa enhanced community quarantine. Kasama na po riyan ‘yung mga areas na tumataas ‘yung mga kaso sa buong Pilipinas. ‘Yan po ang ating priority,” Dizon said. -rir
