More Sinovac, Sinopharm COVID jabs arrive in PH

The COVID-19 vaccines from Chinese vaccine manufacturers Sinovac and Sinopharm arrived in the Philippines on Saturday, Aug. 21.

Some 1 million government-procured Sinovac vaccine doses as well as the second tranche of 260,800 Sinopharm vaccine doses donated by the Chinese government landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 at 6:40 a.m. today.

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines Flight PR361 carried the vaccines.

The National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 reported on Saturday that 260,800 doses of Sinopharm vaccines completed the one million donations committed by the Chinese government.

Almost 5 million doses of government-procured and donated COVID-19 vaccines have arrived this week.

As of Aug. 21, the country has received a total of 48,522,890 COVID-19 vaccines doses from various vaccine manufacturers. – Report from Mark Fetalco / CF – bny
