By NG Seruela

National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 and vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. showed the proposal for the creation of a “COVID-19 frontliners memorial wall” in Taguig City.

In President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s public address on Monday (Aug. 30), Sec. Galvez reported that the memorial wall may contain murals, paintings, and other artistic designs to honor the frontliners for their sacrifices amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Nandoon po ‘yung ano, ‘yung mga pwede painting siya or pwede siya ‘yung tinatawag na murals. Iyong mural na ‘yun it will tell a story about what happened and about the heroism of our doctors and nurses, and our personnel.”

The proposed location of the wall is at the entrance of the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.

Galvez disclosed that the project will also involve the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA). He assured that they will finish the project “before December.”

“So iyon po ang ina-ano po namin at we will involve BCDA and also DPWH, and we will make it soonest possible time parang ginagawa namin sa modular hospital. We will do it, maybe 41 days or more or less two months or even less than three months. So before December po tatapusin po namin po ito.” -rir
