PRRD urges public to get COVID-19 vaccinated anew

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Thursday (Sep. 2) urged the public to get vaccinated for protection against COVID-19, following the country breaching the 2-million mark in the COVID-19 cases.

In his public address, President Duterte pointed out that the vaccination is the “defense against the microbe.”

“Alam mo ang vaccination is really the — what we can offer you to fight COVID. Walang iba. There’s no other defense against the microbe.”

He also urged those who had their first jab to complete the two doses.

“Kung hindi pa kayo nakapag-second dose ninyo, second vaccine, kindly get it as fast as you can. Nandiyan naman ‘yung bakuna. And for those who would need the second vaccination, kindly do it also in a hurry.”

In his Talk to the People, Duterte said that out of the 2 million cases, 1.8 million individuals have recovered. He emphasized that it is a “very good reflection of what our health people are doing, and I would like also to commend Secretary Duque for that.”

Meanwhile, he reported that the country administered more than 33 million jabs, 14 million of which were used as a second dose.

“On September, we are expecting vaccines to arrive at around 25 million ang dadating. Iyan ang ating binibili sa labas,” he added. -rir
