Mobile app to help voters locate nearest registration sites

With eight days left before voter registration ends, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) reminded the public of their right to vote, urging them to register at the nearest Comelec office or through satellite registrations in malls.Ā

To guide the public in finding the nearest Comelec office for voter registration, Sakay.ph has developed a mobile application called ā€œArturoā€.

According to Kenneth Yu, By Implication Co-founder, the features to Sakay.ph Arturo will help residents who were recently placed under lockdowns as well as other traffic issues.

ā€œDino-double check namin sa Twitter at sa Facebook kung ano ang nagbago, kung ano ang hindi pwedeng daanan, bagong ruta, nagsarang ruta, ruta na pwede sa frontliner. Siguro less than a day, na-upload na doon sa app,ā€ Yu said.

The launching of the app by the private company and additional Comelec satellites for voter registration are just some of Comelec’s efforts to reach or even surpass the target 61 million registered Filipino voters for the 2022 national and local elections. – Report from Karen Villanda / CF – bny
