The Philippines has received a total of 106,212,460 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, both procured and donations, as of Monday.

The National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 received the latest delivery of 2,098,980 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine Sunday night, allowing the government to surpass its target of 100 million doses delivered by the end of October.

Data from the National COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard showed a total of 59,316,764 doses have been administered nationwide, with 31,955,891 doses used as first shots and 27,360,871 as second doses.

The average daily doses in the last seven days stood at 514,439.

Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., NTF chief implementer and vaccine czar, expressed optimism that the country will further increase the daily vaccination rate of up to 1.5 million doses with more vaccines being delivered.

“Before, we thought having 300 to 500 [thousand] jabs a day is impossible but right now, we’re able to achieve more or less 700,000 jabs a day,” Galvez said in a news release on Monday.

In October alone, a total of 34,887,870 doses of COVID-19 jabs have been delivered in the country.

The first delivery for November will be arriving on Tuesday night with a total of 2,700,000 doses of government-procured Sputnik V vaccines produced by Russia’s Gamaleya Research Institute.

Galvez reiterated that the government is still targeting to fully vaccinate at least 50 million Filipinos by the end of the year. (PNA)-rir
